Subject:Recanything. It is an interesting Idea. I would rec it, but that defeats the purpose.
Mood: Skippy !

I give you:

This is a fun, little-no commitment, anything goes (except for spontaneously sentient objects) LJRP. Mostly fluffy, occasionally deep. Like metaquotes, but more geeky.

There are only a few rules. Ask a question, don't be an ass, and cut the dark/touchy-subject rules.

Best part? Doesn't matter if the person you want to play is already there! :D Play them anyway! Multiples are fun.

Subject:Lunar Park
Mood: awake

What I'm reccing: Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis.

What it is/does: The first novel in something like eight years by the author of Less Than Zero, The Rules of Attraction, and American Psycho. Generally I haven't been a fan of Ellis, whose prose has been zombified in the past, but this new book is funny. Ellis makes himself the self-loathing, drug-addicted protagonist of the novel, and some of the excesses the fictional Ellis has indulged in are priceless. Plus it turns into a ghost story. And there's even a fake website devoted to the fictional movie star 'Ellis' had a kid with.

Where you can get it: Anywhere books are sold.

Sahara Hotnights. A wonderful Swedish female rock band. They don't get nearly enough recognition. I love their sound, and they write wonderful, refreshing rock songs. My favourites are "On Top Of Your World" and "Hangin'".

Subject:Bye Bye Blemish Drying Lotion

What I'm reccing: Bye Bye Blemish Drying Lotion. Holy crap, does that stuff get rid of zits. I hate to sound like a lame testimonial, but seriously, best stuff I've ever tried.

What it is/does: You dab it on and leave it overnight and it's gone or reduced by the next morning. The only problem I've ever had with it is that it's irritating when it gets in your eyes, but hell, that pretty much describes anything.

Where you can get it: You can order it online, I guess, but I get mine for ten bucks at CVS.

Subject:Listen to Common Rotation.
Mood: indescribable

Have some propaganda.Collapse )

Seriously, y'all. This band is awesome. Adam Busch (of Buffy fame - come on, you know you secretly loved Warren) and Eric Kufs (one of the nicest guys I have ever met) come together (occasionally with other people like Mike Uhler, The Professor Ken Beck, and Jordan Katz) to bring you Really Good Music. Also, they're totally hot (see coro_daily for examples).

Have some songs. If you want more, just ask.
